Sunshine Adult Family Homes strives to replicate the home environment with small resident numbers in a house setting. They have two different locations in Kirkland, Washington. Sunshine offers twenty-four hour care and supervision to ensure all needs are met. Sunshine AFH provides assistance to seniors with more complex needs, who are unable to be as independent. This includes hospice care. Meals are cooked on site, with accommodations for those with dietary concerns. Daily assistance is available for normal tasks such as bathing and dressing. Special diabetic, stroke, and oxygen dependent care is available as well. Medication is supervised by trained professionals with frequent communication between physicians and families. Vital signs, such as blood pressure and pulse, are taken weekly and tracked on individual charts. There is also a registered nurse on call and a dentist that comes to the house for regular care. Residents have private bedrooms and bathrooms. Housekeeping and laundry is taken care of by the staff. In addition, there are indoor and outdoor common areas for recreation and socialization.
