Horseback riders gallop along the fine sand in Frederick Douglass Memorial Park, named for the famed African American abolitionist. The largest public collection of tropical bonsai grows at the Heathcote Botanical gardens, and the National Navy SEAL Museum traces the history of the distinguished special operations force. The Broadmoor ALF offers three specially designed living neighborhoods - all under one roof - to support residents living with cognitive challenges, including dementia and Alzheimer’s. The Magnolia Terrace neighborhood is for women who are beginning to show signs of memory loss. For men and women in the middle stages of Alzheimer’s or dementia, there is the Garden Park neighborhood. Meanwhile, the Rosewood neighborhood offers support and hospice care for residents nearing the end of life.
